With arrival at Package CB05 of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge On May 1st, Xu visited the working staff who stick to their post on May Day, showing warmest greetings on behalf of Government of Guangdong Province, and expressing gratitude for their contributions to this national key project and economy development of Guangdong province.

After arrival at Package CB05 by boat, Xu’s group inspected bridge and artificial island works, debriefed construction process and distributed holiday allowance. “With great effort of each party, overall progress of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge goes well, but relevant authorities shall exert greater effort to solve problems with reference to land, capital, management, etc. and ensure quality, safety as well as construction programme. Meanwhile, bridge authority shall further strengthen its management, strictly follow the construction programme, and make this bridge to be an excellent and model project”, Xu said. In addition, he pointed out that ancillary works including Zhuhai port, Zhuhai link load, etc. shall be built as per planned programme to ensure completed and put into use synchronously with the main works.

On May Day, the project site is still under busy construction. Workers from MBEC are speeding up construction process by taking advantage of this golden period. Up to the end of April, 2014, fifteen billion six hundred and twenty eight million has been invested for main works of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, account for 41% of total investment. Artificial island of Zhuhai Port located at Gongbei Bay is the door in and out Guangdong Province. After completion, it consists of passenger inspection area, goods inspection area, office area, etc. Foundation works of Zhuhai port is under busy construction, and up to now, 40% of piles for passenger inspection building have been completed.
